Nature Communication for Global Transformation, 7-3-21 ~ Animal Communication World ~ Maia Kincaid
Dear Awesome Nature Communicators,

Here's one form of play (art) recommended for we humans by animals and beings of Nature.
Thank you for our Nature communication adventures on Saturday! In class I said lets get into the nuts and bolts of how to communicate with Nature. When I said Nature I meant, animals, plants, insects, the Earth, fellow human beings, cells and so on.
So how do we actually carry on a two way conversation with a cat, or a dog, a horse, or a tree? We jump right in and say hello! There is no need for any preparation. There is no need to quiet the mind. In fact, any efforts to change ourselves or quiet the mind simply distract us from communicating with whomever we intended to talk with. It's really the same as making a plan to talk with someone and then keeping them waiting while we do something else. Another example would be, let's say I am talking with Annette and I am worried about whether I am really listening well or asking the right questions. I am focused on myself and not there present in my conversation with Annette. When we humans talk with one another we usually just talk. We don't normally worry about how we are talking except in some situations. When we talk with animals or beings of Nature it seems foreign or different. There is so much concern about doing it right that people end up in their own mind instead of just being present to whatever is being experienced in the moment. The main thing is to jump in and just do it! Communicate! Actual communication is what develops ones communication skills.
We don't need a quiet mind to talk with beings of Nature. Quieting the mind can even make it so we don't hear because Nature speaks from within us. If we are trying to get quiet then we are blocking out all sounds including hers. Quieting the mind is a beautiful practice and it can allow for Nature to have her voice once we allow ourselves to hear again. I continually hear from Nature for we humans to learn to accept ourselves just as we are in the moment. Communicate just as we are. That means learn to communicate no matter whether you feel scattered, have lots of thoughts, have lots going on, feel tired, etc, etc. So, allow yourself to be as you are and communicate. Simply be aware of what you are experiencing. Anytime you drift off thinking about something other then the conversation you are in the midst of simply smile and just remember you are talking to a tree or whoever it was. I used to be angry with myself when my mind wandered from a conversation. Beings of Nature taught me to look at myself with love and humor instead. Sometimes I laugh at the funny things I think of while communicating and then I come right back to awareness of my conversation as my primary focus. I used to think it was offensive to an animal if I were talking with them and my mind would wander. I felt terrible about it! They think it is so hilarious the way we humans go around and around with these kinds of things. I would be talking with a dog in the midst of a fascinating conversation and suddenly find myself thinking about what I was going to do later on. I would then apologize and dive in with a question for the dog. One dog after another and many other animals and beings of Nature taught me to accept my humanness and just get back into the conversation whenever my mind wandered. They said if I continued to fight myself over this and try to quiet and focus my mind I was just in a continuum of a poor relationship with me and it would never get me where I thought I wanted to go. If I were to simply accept myself as I did others my mind would rarely wander and if it did I could enjoy a chuckle and then get back to the conversation. Instead if I judged myself and tried to quiet the mind I was no longer attentive to the conversation and this battle would go on forever and ever. I would always have lots of hard work to do on myself and that would make me less available for any conversation. As they often tell me, "It's all about you isn't it"! Often it is all about we humans.
In class we communicated with Mother Earth. We asked her numerous questions and class members shared their experiences being in communication with her. We were exploring the topic of Unity while experiencing asking Mother Earth questions and enjoying her replies. I encourage you to talk with Mother Earth again and often! Other animals and beings of Nature would love to talk with you as well. You may create a new habit of having one or more conversations a day. I find pairing communication with another activity to work really well. For instance, talking while driving just as we would talk with a passenger who is riding in the car. You may talk with Mother Earth while driving or riding in the car. This is a great exercise because it can make it so you don't work at the communication and you don't prepare for it because you wouldn't want to be meditating while driving. You can communicate while cleaning around the home, walking, exercising, traveling on a plane, in an airport or a taxi, while brushing your teeth, or preparing a meal. Any activity which allows you to talk with a person works well for talking with a cat, a dog, any animal, any tree or other being of Nature. The less conditions you have around communication, like needing to be a certain way, or in a certain location, the more often you will communicate. The more you communicate the more effective you will be in your communication. The more you communicate with beings of Nature the more confidence, ease and joy you will experience.
Until we meet again in August:
Say hello to animals, plants and other beings of Nature. Talk with them as you would a fellow human being. Ask questions, share, take notes and enjoy knowing you are making a difference for a being who normally goes unheard.
1. Create a new habit to have a conversation with at least one being of Nature a day. It can be a very short conversation, even a couple of minutes. Having regular communication can do wonders for your communication ability and also it allows more love to blossom in your life. These beings (animals, plants, insects, Mother Earth, cells, etc) are LOVE. When we talk with them we experience their love, and we experience we are LOVE too!
2. Celebrate diversity of human beings and diversity of all species.
5. We continue to hear from Nature we don't play enough. Rediscover PLAYFULNESS! Ideas: playing music, dancing, doing art, sitting on the grass or on a rock, walking barefoot in the grass, doing anything you love, sharing with others, and inspiring them to follow their hearts too!
Ongoing explorations into transforming our world:
If you were the designer of human life living here at Mother Earth, how would that look? Imagine if you could wiggle your nose and have it however you wished what would life be like here? How does it feel to you to imagine this?
Let's create our visions of living in harmony, living in harmony with all life! Visions felt, powerfully create our tomorrows!
What visions have you unknowingly been a part of supporting? For example, what realities have you continued to think about and experience emotion over which upset you and continue to this day? What if you acknowledged they exist and then put your heart and mind to envisioning how you would love it to be? A personal example for me is the abuse of horses. I could stay in my upset reaction, or I can spend a bit of time creating a world where all horses are cherished. This takes a bit of thought. What is my choice? What is yours?
